Travelling without Your Baby – Style Guide

We have just got back from a long weekend away without our baby, and for any of you thinking, ah how was it leaving the little one? It is hard, I think especially as babies, it will always be difficult between 0-36 months, luckily we have very close family that Leonardo see’s daily, being my mum which makes that anxiety slightly easier for me as I know he’s so familiar with her, but it is sad to say good bye, but on the other hand, it’s nice to give yourself a little break now and again, because, as parents, we deserve to have a little time off from parenting.

As we didn’t have baby with us, we only took hand luggage each, i’ve never had so much room in my suitcase, which was great for the return journey as I filled the other half with biscuits and Christmas duty free presents!

Aswell as a mini suitcase, I also took my favourite Coach bag which I hardly get to use anymore, so I appreciate having a light bag and like to keep what’s inside, quite minimal.

These are the things I like to have inside;

  1. Lipstick
  2. Sunglasses
  3. Pack of Tissues
  4. Pack of Wet ones
  5. Pen
  6. Hand Cream
  7. Purse
  8. Mobile Phone
  9. Mobile Phone Charger

I was very kindly gifted a purse by Eva Leather, I was excited to use this purse on our trip away as it is a really good size and I hate having to put our passports separate to everything else, when i’m at the airport I like to get everything out together so I’m not constantly rummaging through my purse. There are so many compartments to this purse, but not too many, enought if you’re like me and is constantly looking for their boots, nectar, superdrug or waitrose card and hates doubling up!

This purse also has a great compartment for coins and still room for your passports and it opens and closes really nicely too.

I will be saving this purse for travelling as I love the fact that you can fit everything in and it’s still a good size purse and not oversized that it will take up all the room in your bag.

I will also use this as a clutch bag too, as if you have an iphone and take the cover off, it will slide into it and close nicely too!

We had a great a trip and it went past so quickly, if anyone is thinking of having a weekend away and leaving your little ones with family or close friends, my best tip is not to face time as this made L upset, my mum would just regularly send me photos of what they were up to which was really sweet. You will love the sleep catch up, I promise! Then returning back to parenthood is the best as you miss them so much.
