15 Weeks with baby Leonardo

I know everyone says this, but I never actually truly believed people when they said to me how fast the first year of a baby’s life goes. I honestly can’t quite get my head around the fact I gave birth 15 weeks ago last Saturday, although i’m feeling myself again now, i’m not back to my original birth weight, but that’s the last thing on my mind. Right now, i’m enjoying life with my newborn baby (can I still call him that, I don’t care, i’m holding on to it as long as possible!) and I thought I would share a few updates of what i’ve experienced at week 15 with Leonardo.

  1. The Sleep

I don’t want to jinx things but for the past three weeks, we have had a really good sleep routine, especially at night time. Leonardo is having his last feed at around 11/11:30pm and sleeping right through the night until around 6am, sometimes 7/7:30am and believe me, this literally feels like a lie-in.

2. Teething

We have noticed that Leonardo has two baby teeth that are starting to come through, in the last two weeks, he has started to put his hand in his mouth which he finds soothing, i’ve found two teething products that have worked for us which I will link below, we do have Sophia the Giraffe, which I know is popular but Leonardo hasn’t quite got to grips with holding on to her for more than 5 seconds, and when he eventually does, he drops her on the floor, so back in the steraliser she goes!

3. Eating Less

We are now down to 6 feeds per day of around 180ml per feed, we eventually got rid of the 4am feed about two weeks ago, he now has a feed at around these times throughout the day; 6:30, 10:30, 13:30, 15:30, 18:30, 21:00 and then bed. He sometimes has a feed at around 23:00 and will sleep right through until midnight, I know, I know, it’s really good and believe me, i’m enjoying it whilst it lasts as I know this sleep pattern could change at any moment.

Leonardo is now wearing 9-12 month clothes and we’ve been in size 2 pampers for about 4 weeks now, i’ve been buying mine from Amazon, hardly anywhere has offers on except now saying that, i’ve literally just had an email from Ocado about their buy one add one free offer on Pampers! You can see it here

We’re currently on the look out for a new cot for Leonardo as we transition from the Cocoonababy to a cot, he really is getting too big for the Snuz pod, but in the meantime i’m trying to get him used to sleeping on a flat surface and he’s forever kicking his covers off, so i’ve been on the hunt for a sleeping bag to try.

Here are my favourite top 5.

The Little Green Sheep Wild Cotton Organic Sleeping bag – Shop here

I brought the Noahs Ark lightweight sleeping bag for Leonardo from my local Jojo Maman Bebe yesterday, it’s perfect for this kind of temperature as we go into spring, I went for the 6-18 months, it’s a tiny bit too long for him and the 0-6 months was just way too small for him, we tried it out for the first time today and I will be doing an update on this on my next blog post, so watch this space, so far so good!
